The Machrie

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

Our first location of Islay has been something special. From the moment we drove into the establishment, we could both tell that this was a top quality establishment, but they have managed to keep the simplicity and grandeur that the island itself certainly has. After some time on the golf course, we were very impressed by the new DJ Russell re-designed course, which takes a course which was a very good course to a higher level while kept in perfect condition, now at a standard easily capable of holding a top European Tour event in the near future. The staff were all kind and accomodating, and made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. With the rivers filled with peat - also used in the local whisky to add depth in flavour - and the clear waters of the sea running parallel to many of the holes, we had an 18 holes that we will never forget, and we were staggered by the attention to detail of the greens, fairways, and even the pathways for our buggy filled with camera gear as we filmed on the course! This is the first of many blog posts, as we share not only our journey through Scotland, but also the ups and downs of working together, and everything in between.

Thank you for the support.

Chris and Louis
